JUSTICE Franklyn Holder, the presiding judge in the Stewartville West Coast Demerara murder case, involving two accused, Peter Ray Kassim and Satnanand Sahadeo, ruled that a caution statement given to the police by Sahadeo was found to be freely and voluntarily given. As a result of the judge’s ruling, counsel Mr. George Thomas, defending Sahadeo, is now trying to convince the judge to change his approach in relation to his findings in respect to a gun and a confession statement.
The accused, Peter Ray Kassim, called Donkey, and Satanand Sahadeo, called Boyso, are indicted with the offence of murder.
It is alleged that these accused, on 29th June, 2005, murdered Vishnu Santi.
Mrs.Judith Gildharie-Mursalin and Miss Renita Singh of the DPP Chambers are prosecuting.
