THE Essequibo Coast Praant of Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha has started preparations for its grand, colourful Phagwah mela scheduled for March 11 at Anna Regina Community Centre ground. Executive member, Ms. Mohinie Ramlakan said members of all mandirs across the Coast will be invited to participate in the annual chowtal samelyan, on Sunday March 4, from 10:00hrs at Johanna Cecelia Mandir.
She said each mandir will be required to prepare a chowtal goal, of about 20 minutes duration, for the event.
At annual phagwah melas, thousands of Hindus, usually, celebrate at Anna Regina Community Centre ground.
