Mother, daughter remanded on charges against each other

MAGISTRATE Hazel Octive-Hamilton, yesterday, remanded a mother and daughter to prison for seven days after they both appeared before her on charges against each other.
Nicole Bascombe pleaded not guilty to having, on February 14, unlawfully assaulted her mother, Yvette Fraser.
Fraser (no address given either) was charged with provoking a breach of the peace by throwing dirty water to the annoyance of Bascombe and she pleaded guilty.
The woman told the court she was in bed the night before the incident when she received several phone calls asking her for someone named Yvette.
She said the caller informed that her daughter was telling people that she is dead and that her son was coming into the country to bury her.
Fraser said, the next day, she was sweeping her yard when her daughter threw water on her and called her an old whore.
Then, she went into Bascombe’s apartment and splashed water inside, Fraser admitted, adding:”This girl is really disrespectful My Worship.”
According to Fraser, her daughter was charged, recently, for assaulting her and was placed on a bond for two years.
The magistrate declared her outraged at the women’s behaviour and advised that they catch themselves over the seven days in remand.
The couple will return to court on February 24.
