More teams rack up wins in Preparatory T10 Tourney

THE Guyana Softball League 2012 Preparatory T10 softball cricket tournament, which is sponsored by Moonlite Trading, Regal Stationery & Computer Centre, Elegance Jewellery and Pawnshop and Mike’s Copy Centre, continued last Sunday with matches throughout the country. In the West Coast Zone final, Invaderz defeated Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company’s defending T10 champions Wolf’s Warriors by 34 runs, after they won the toss and chose to bat first.
Vickram Dhaniram made 64 (8×6) and Khemraj Ramsundar an even 50 (7×6), as Invaderz stormed to 170 for 5 in their allotted overs, after being 96 without loss from five overs, against the opposition’s leading bowler, Amreth Rai, who finished with 2-30 and defended that total very well, even though Wolf Warriors put up a fight.
The weight of the match was shifted, following the introduction of Vickram Dhaniram who picked up three wickets in the sixth over, which pegged back Wolf Warriors before they were bowled out for 132.
