Former STABROEK News photographer Ken Moore, M.S., was yesterday laid to rest, following a thanksgiving service for his life at First Assembly of God Church on D’Urban Street, Georgetown. His body was interred at Le Repentir Cemetery. Moore, died at the Georgetown Public Hospital on February 14, after a brief illness. He was 72.
Officiating ministers at the thanksgiving ceremony were Senior Pastor Reverend Raphael Massiah, with contributions made also by other pastoral staff including Ministers Randolph Singh, Raphael Jackman, and Deacon Paul Benjamin.
Apart from the eulogy, there were moving tributes by Ret’d Brigadier David Granger, leader of A Partnership for National Unity (APNU)and Mrs. Cheryl Springer and Stabroek News Editor Anand Persaud, among others.
Meanwhile, also joining in paying last respects to the former media practitioner were: Mayor Hamilton Green; former Commissioner of Police Mr. Laurie Lewis; Mr. Vibert Parvatan of Laparkan; and members of the media fraternity.
