Haslington man shot by bandits

HASLINGTON, East Coast Demerara resident Glendon Cosbert, 47, was walking with his wife along an access road in the village, at about 08:30 hrs yesterday, when they were confronted by two men armed with handguns who held them up and took away the jewellery that Cosbert was wearing at the time.
According to a police report, Cosbert resisted the robbers and was shot to his left leg. He is currently receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
The motor vehicle reportedly used by the perpetrators to escape from the scene was later found abandoned in the Haslington North area. Police have commenced investigating the incident.
