A MAN appeared in Court, on Wednesday, charged with stealing from Austin’s Book Store on Church Street, Georgetown. Leon Mc Bean (no address given) pleaded not guilty to the offence before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, denying that, on February 7, he stole one book, valued $6,500, from the business place.
The magistrate enquired of the defendant if it was an English text he took but the defendant maintained that he did not steal any book.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, had no objection to bail and it was fixed at $20,000, until March 2.
