Following ‘talk name’ allegation….

Store clerk fined for assaulting fellow employee
A COMMERCIAL store clerk was fined $25,000 with the alternative of two weeks imprisonment yesterday, for assaulting her co-worker.
Eshell Dookwah, 18, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and pleaded guilty to having, on January 13, unlawfully assaulted Marcena Persaud, to cause her actual bodily harm.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the defendant and the virtual complainant are both employed at Bhaichandeen Hardware Store.
The prosecutor said the defendant accused the virtual complainant of talking her name with the “boss lady”. Dookwah pointed her fingers in Persaud’s face and they were involved in a scramble, during which the latter suffered several scratches about her body.
Dookwah admitted they had a fight but claimed that Persaud would, usually, discuss her with the boss lady.
The magistrate chided both women for acting like schoolchildren and challenged them to act their age.
