Woman brutally murdered in front of 6-yr-old son

…suspect believed to be headed for French Guiana
ROSHCELL Rodney, 32, was yesterday morning brutally murdered, allegedly by her husband of almost two years, Sean Rodney, following an altercation between the two at their Bodhoo Housing Scheme home, at Blankenberg on the West Coast of Demerara.
According to reports from family members who were allowed to view the body, the man had allegedly slashed the woman’s throat and both wrists, and to ensure that she died, he pierced the region of the heart.
This publication understands that, Rodney, after committing the act in front of his six-year-old adopted son, Renaldo Doris, took the child from the scene and told him that he was taking him to Enmore on the East Coast Demerara to stay with one of his mother’s family.
However, the suspect drove all the way to Mahaicony on the East Coast Demerara, where he abandoned his vehicle and sent the child back to the family in a taxi, with the keys to the vehicle, after which he boarded a boat to leave the country.
It is believed that the suspect may be heading to French Guyana, since he owns his own home there.
Speaking with the media after his return home, a terrified Renaldo related what had happened.
The child said that the couple’s two children had just come home from school when the incident occurred.
The child said that he began to question Rodney, asking him “Why are you doing that to aunty, Uncle Sean?”, but all he did was pick him up and he carried him to the car leaving the woman lying on the floor in pools of blood.
Earlier, the murdered woman had locked out her husband.
Renaldo said, “He go outside and she lock him out and after he begging her to open the door, soon she open the door and he gone and pick up all the knives …she telling him don’t kill me in front of them little children…he tell me he going in a boat, he call he friend and he tell he and he said don’t tell nobody.”
When the Guyana Chronicle visited the home of the woman’s parents and other close family at Enmore, they said that the two had only been married for some two years now.
Speaking on behalf of the traumatized family, Lionel Crandon said that the two didn’t have any serious problem and that the family is unaware aware of what might have led to the murder.
Crandon said that Sean Rodney is not known to be a violent person.

The suspect had escaped in motor car PNN 9420, police ranks in all divisions were alerted, and the vehicle was found abandoned on the public road at Carlton Hall, Mahaicony.
The suspect is still at large.
