— escapes with minor injury
A BUSH LOT FARM, Corentyne porter got the scare of his life when he was attacked by three bandits just before midnight on Wednesday, while he was awaiting water from his wife to bathe in his yard. Thirty-three-year-old Navin Ragadeen had, moments earlier, returned home from a liquor restaurant in his village, and was standing in his yard, as he had earlier requested a bucket of water from his wife Dewantie, which he intended to use to bathe. Whilst bracing his fence, three masked men, two armed with cutlasses and the other with a shot gun, held on to him.
According to the man, the intruder with the gun discharged a round before lashing him on his head with the weapon. Ragadeen screamed, alerting his unsuspecting wife and neighbours, who in turn armed themselves with sticks and came to his rescue.
The men, upon realizing the situation, escaped into the backlands.
The matter was reported to the police, who have commenced investigations.
