PEGGY Abiola Isa Reynolds, a recently graduated lawyer, has been admitted to practice at the Guyana Bar by Justice Roxanne George. Her petition for admission was presented by attorney-at-law Ms. Sandra Kurtzious, who referred to the petitioner’s distinguished record.
The daughter of late George and Jenny McLennan and wife of Justice Brassington Reynolds, attended St. Margaret’s Primary School, from where she wrote Common Entrance Examination in 1986 and gained a place at President’s College.
In 1991, she sat the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) examinations before enrolling at the University of Guyana (UG), where she secured a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.
According to Kurtzious, not satisfied with already excellent academic achievements, Reynolds further qualified herself with a Post Graduate Certificate in Diplomacy (1999 to 2000); a Post Graduate Diploma in International Studies (1998 to 2000) and a Bachelor of Law degree, with credit, from UG (2006 to 2009).
Reynolds then proceeded to Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad and secured the Certificate of Legal Education (2009 to 2011).
Notwithstanding the demands of her academic studies, she ensured that she was gainfully employed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Protocol and Consular Department (1996 to 1999); as Desk Officer, Western Europe and the Commonwealth (1999 to 2004) and Desk Officer, Sustainable Development and the Environment (2004 to 2009).
The inductee thanked the judge for her advice and Kurtzious for ably putting forward her application, then promised to uphold the high traditions of the legal profession.
