THE quick response of a 16-year-old lad foiled a robbery attack at his parents’ Ulverston, Corentyne, Berbice, home, last Friday night. The teen armed himself with a bottle and lashed the would-be robber, preventing him from entering where Fazil Hussain alias ‘Broadhead’, his wife, Savitree and two children, Feroze and Shameeza live.
The family had left their residence earlier to attend a religious concert and returned about 23:30hrs.
The children entered the two-storey building first, through a door on the lower flat and their parents were behind but, as the elder Hussain was about to enter, he was confronted by a gunman, who ordered him to come in.
The bandit was about to follow when Feroze picked up the bottle and dealt him the lash on his head.
Then the intruder and his two accomplices fled after firing a round that did not hit anyone.
Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
