Three months’ jail for simple larceny convict

MARLON Braithwaite (no address given) was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment on a simple larceny charge on December 30, when he pleaded guilty before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton to the charge which stated that, on December 24, he stole one cell phone valued $17,000, property of Claire Mc Pherson. Prosecutor, Police Sergeant Gordon Mansfield told the court that the virtual complainant and defendant are known to each other, and on the day in question the virtual complainant observed the defendant at a table where her phone was.
The prosecutor said the virtual complainant later made checks and discovered her phone missing, and the defendant was nowhere around. Later arrested, the defendant admitted to the offence.
The defendant told the court that he was sorry for what he had done, and that he would like a sentence that would satisfy him.
He asked the magistrate for three months’ imprisonment and was granted his wish.
