THE year 2011 has been a very important and significant year for Guyana. This New Year, like any New Year presents new challenges and new opportunities. It is incumbent upon us to meet the challenges and make use of the opportunities presented. Berbice, in particular, is in line for new opportunities and growth and development. For instance, drilling and exploring for oil in Berbice is scheduled to commence this year. We, Berbicians, as well as all Guyanese, look forward to the manifold opportunities that will arise from this momentous exercise.
