He spoke to me of race
He defied my appeals for sanity He hated another
Because of another’s colour
Then one day he became sick
Was rushed to the hospital
And I gently asked him:
What should be the colour
Of the doctor
Who would treat you
So you could further live
To hate because of colour?
Tell me so we can neglect
The best of the doctors
Because he, I see, has the colour you hate!
A matter of colour
