ONCE again I am struck by awe and numbness at the AFC’s leadership. Looking at the Evening News on Tuesday December 13, 2011 and the statement made by Raphael Trotman, I am not surprised if the AFC failed to recognise the hard work of a vibrant woman in Valerie Lowe.
Yes AFC, we are aware that Valerie and her team joined you late but her name is on your top up list or was it just put there as a camouflage or a show piece to fool her? Had it not been for her crossing to your party do you think the AFC would have earned such a large percentage of the Amerindian votes? We are also aware that the three persons on the Region 8 list were the chosen lot for the AFC slate. None of them is a representative of Valerie’s team. So it would be a full team of the AFC’s choice and none to represent those that shifted with Valerie and gave their support to the AFC. Moses’s name was on the Region 6 regional list; why is it he could not have been chosen to represent Region 6 instead on being chosen from the top up list. Is it because he could pay for all the TV programmes and put some money in the party’s coffers? Why is it, the AFC has five persons from Georgetown and its environs selected to represent all its support in Region 4? Where is the representative from the rural areas of Region 4? Bad choice once more AFC – or is it another deceitful act of the AFC? Valerie, you really forgot what they did to Gomattie Singh in the 2006 elections.
It’s your turn now. Let’s see if anyone will resign his position to give you what you deserve. The AFC should have chosen Khemraj from the top up list; Cathy from the Region 4 list; Valerie Lowe from the top up list; Moses from the Region 6 list; Poi from the Region 8 list; Raphael from the top up list because of his popularity in all regions and someone who is learned enough to represent all of Guyana, not a youth from Georgetown. What a disappointment once more in the AFC’s selection of MPs – have you people ever envisaged what contributions Ramayya and Trevor Williams could make in Parliament? Ramayya cannot even speak proper English and I hope Trevor Williams earned himself a name in the million dollar club for selling insurance policies to all the MPs. Is this another deceit used to sidetrack another vibrant woman, Valerie Lowe? Remember AFC, how you had sidetracked Gomattie Singh to put a lady in Parliament to earn a living. If Valerie had paid attention to the AFC’s politics she would not have made the mistake to join hands with the life leaders of the AFC who continuously betray the confidence of hard-working women. Sorry Val, you will have to come again in 2016 perhaps making the right choice then.
