THE Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG), which is a non-profit N.G.O and the principal organization of Muslims in Guyana, has once again responded to the request of another organisation, the Dharm Shala, which has similar objectives to CIOG in providing assistance to the needy members of our society.
Rendering assistance to the poor and needy is a pillar of Islam and therefore CIOG said it is pleased to perform its duty as Muslims and will be making a monetary donation to Dharm Shala at 13:00 hrs today.
CIOG, in a statement yesterday from the President, Mr. Fazeel Ferouz, commended the administration of the Dharm Shala for the excellent work they have done by providing housing and food to the less fortunate.
