Motorcyclist dies in accident on Agricola Public Road

ORLANDO Williams, 26, of Eccles, East Bank Demerara died on the Agricola Public Road on Thursday night at about 21:00hrs when the motorcycle he was riding, CF8907, allegedly came into contact with the rear wheel of a bicycle that Eon Boyce, 42, of Agricola was pushing across the western carriageway of the East Bank Highway.
According to a statement from the police, Williams consequently lost control of the motor cycle and crashed.
Both men received injuries and were taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), where Eon Boyce was treated and sent away, while Orlando Williams was admitted and later succumbed to his injuries.
Relatives yesterday said that Williams fell onto the roadway after he crashed and he received multiple injuries about the body. They said that Williams was unmarried and had no children, but is survived by scores of family members and relatives. His sudden death came as a total shock to them.
Meanwhile, the police have said that for this year, 108 persons were killed in 99 road accidents countrywide, while for the corresponding period last year, 111 persons lost their lives from 97 road accidents.
