I read with astonishment about the manner in which Mr. Sattaur’s son, Fiyad, was treated. Well, as clearly seen, Fiyad was definitely bulldozed out of the competition. And the athletic officials in their designations are only prognosticating around, thinking that the public would believe in them.
Regardless of the circumstances, the infamy caused to Fiyad is all due to the indigence by these officials. This does not augur well for a young man aspiring to become a national hero for his country. Such action brings only detriment and corruption in any organising committee.
The officials involved in this particular event should boldly tender their resignations from the athletic committee and the Director of Sport should ensure that an appropriate apology is offered to Fiyad.
This is seen as a national disgrace and you have to curb the situation now, so as to avoid a similar occurrence.
