PRESIDENT Bharrat Jagdeo, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Disciplined Services, Head of Government and Head of State, will today feature at an appreciation ceremony hosted by the Officers Corps of the Joint Services. Venue of the function is the Officers’ Mess of the Guyana Police Force, said Secretary of the Cabinet, Dr Roger Luncheon, who made the announcement at a post-Cabinet briefing yesterday.
The function, he noted, is intended to allow officers in the Disciplined Services, many of whom commenced their careers as officers before President Jagdeo became Commander-in-Chief, and many others whose career began during his tenure, to record their appreciation.
According to the revised Constitution of Guyana, President Jagdeo will demit office as President on November 28, having served two terms in office.
