SKELDON Community Centre registered their first win in seven matches when they upset pre-tournament favourites Albion Community Centre in their rescheduled match of this year’s Berbice Cricket Board Tenelec Inc. first division 50 overs competition. Seeing them through to their target after they did well to restrict Albion to 190 for 9 in their allotted 43 overs, was former national limited overs wicketkeeper/batsman Anthony Bramble, who slammed 95 (4×4) and Mark Lionel who made 68 (5×4,1×6) as Skeldon were 120 for 4 – the two of them putting on 60 for the fifth wicket.
Even though they suffered the defeat, their second in eight matches, Albion Community Centre were assured of a place in the semi-finals as they ended the preliminary rounds with 12 points to lead their group.
Shafiq Khan did well to slam 67 for Edinburgh against Universal DVD Young Warriors in his team’s total of 187 but it was the in-form Richard Ramdeen’s 63 (9×4) who placed Young Warriors on track to come away with a seven-wicket victory.
