KEVIN Critchlow (no address given) appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday, charged with unlawful assault.
He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on November 13, he unlawfully assaulted Renatta Vigilance.
Police Corporal Jairam Luckhai, prosecuting, said the incident followed an argument between the defendant and the virtual complainant on Camp Street in Georgetown.
The prosecutor said Critchlow became annoyed, slapped Vigilance several times and then choked her.
Critchlow was put on $25,000 bail until December 12.
