A MAN who claimed he used one gramme of cannabis (marijuana) for his asthma complaint was yesterday fined $3,000.
Gavin Heyliger, who pleaded guilty before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry to possession of the narcotic on November 4, was also ordered to do six months community service at Brickdam Police Station in Georgetown.
Heyliger (no address given) maintained that smoking the cannabis helps him with his asthma symptoms.
