Jagan’s legacy will always be with PPP/C
THE legacy of Dr. Cheddi Jagan will always be with the People’s Progressive Party/ Civic (PPP/C) where it belongs, Executive Member Clement Rohee assured thousands at the Whim, Corentyne, Berbice, Tuesday public meeting. He said, while there have been claims that the memory has been betrayed, the obvious transformation of Guyana, through many development initiatives, proves them false.
“Is the Berbice Bridge a betrayal of Cheddi Jagan’s legacy? Is the New Amsterdam Hospital a betrayal of Cheddi Jagan’s legacy? Is the new water supply system a betrayal of Cheddi Jagan’s legacy?” Mr. Rohee asked.
According to him, the PPP/C has been dealing with attacks, many of which have recently come from ex-party member Mr. Moses Nagamootoo.
However, he stated that while the party has responded to him, the focus has remained on the PPP/C’s political opponents, the Alliance for Change (AFC) and A Partnership for National Unity (APNU).
Rohee noted that Nagamootoo’s constant tirades have not been directed in the direction of any other political party.

Rohee observed that, in the history of the incumbent party, the leaders have done right by the Guyanese people and the party will continue its struggle for continued growth and development.
“We will always fight the good fight,” he posited.
Rohee challenged the thousands in the gathering to let their conscience be their guide come Elections Day and allow progress to continue.
Other speakers included Region 6 (East Berbice/Corentyne) Chairman, Mr. Zulfikar Mustapha, who said the PPP/C’s List of Candidates boasts honest and dedicated people who will lead Guyana to greater heights.
Pastor Phillip Rose stated that the legacy of the current administration is reflected through the successes with many initiatives, everything from the Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS) to the bringing together of the different religious communities to actively participate in Guyana’s development.
