Lurlene Nestor is being mischievous

Ms. Lurlene Nestor and her PNCR/APNU collection of geriatrics are between a rock and a hard place as evident in their desperate resort to naked lies in an attempt to salvage its dwindling support in the midst of the 2011 elections. Lurlene, who is part of the PNCR/APNU leadership team, not only opposed the eight percent salary increase for public servants and Guysuco workers, but in the process, deliberately injected lies about President Jagdeo in relation to this matter.
In the Stabroek News of Saturday November 5, Lurlene said the following, ‘only a few months ago he (Jagdeo) duped the public servants and questioned their right to any pay increases.’’ This is an obvious lie, and Lurlene should not escape the heat for this mischief. She needs to produce the records to support her claim if she wants to escape the label of being a consummate liar.
We are all aware of one thing: President Jagdeo’s consistent commitment to the improvement of public servants, both in the form of salary and working conditions. Guyanese have grown accustomed to annual salary increases around this time of the year.
But all together, it’s not surprising, this coming from a PNCR/APNU representative whose record on development issues is at the low end of ratings. The PNC denied public servants progress and withheld their basic rights.
Lurlene is without shame, when one thinks about her brazen attempt to pass lies on the Guyanese people. Worse yet, the PNC, now APNU, has the worst record of attending to the rights of workers in this country.
No doubt, PNCR/APNU’s back is against the wall, worried about the prospect of losing the elections as judgment for its sins committed on Guyanese.
No amount of criticisms of the salary increase will deter the PPPC Administration who remains committed to the working- class.
