THE preliminary inquiry (PI) in the Neesa Gopaul murder case was called and postponed, again, yesterday.
Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry set November 10 for the continuation, after stating that she received a letter from Special Prosecutor Prithima Kissoon, who is unwell and could not be present.
Defence Counsel Vic Puran had no objection to the postponement.
The victim’s mother, Bibi Shareema Gopaul and her stepfather, Jarvis Small are charged with unlawfully killing her between September 24 and October 2, 2010.
The body of the former Queen’s College (QC) student was discovered stuffed in a suitcase at Madewini, in the vicinity of Emerald Tower Resort, along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway.
