ALLEN Campbell (no address given), the defendant in a domestic violence case, was yesterday put on a bond to keep the peace, pending his return to court on October 24.
Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry also put him on $40,000 bail after he pleaded not guilty to unlawful and malicious wounding. Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the virtual complainant, Gillian Orrick, who was unlawfully and maliciously wounded on October 16, is living with Campbell.
The prosecutor said the couple had a misunderstanding and the defendant beat the woman about her body with a spade before she managed to escape and make a report.
The case has been transferred to another court.
