ANOTHER road fatality was recorded last Saturday night when a pedestrian was struck by a motor car while attempting to cross Harlem Public Road, West Coast Demerara.
Berty Baichu, 61, of Waller’s Delight, also on the West Coast of Demerara,was attempting the crossing when he was hit by hire car HB 4356.
He was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH) where he succumbed while  receiving medical treatment, police said after the 21:10 hrs accident, for which the driver of the vehicle is in custody assisting with  investigations.
Krishna Baichu, brother of the deceased, told the Guyana Chronicle on Sunday that the latter had been on his way to a birthday party. He was the father of 13 children, three of whom, ages 11, 15 and 16 years old resided with him.
