Freddie’s lies have been exposed
THE PPP/C rallies continue to attract huge crowds. The messages for the continued development for Guyana were articulated and well received. The task for those who spoke were made less challenging given the overwhelming evidence of the results of the developmental thrust undertaken by the PPP/C since 1992. The massive crowds needed not to be convinced, for they are testimony to the country’s unprecedented transformation.
Guyanese know that the PPP/C is the only party committed to improving their lives. They know that the PPP/C has delivered on its promises. They know that the living standards of Guyanese have vastly improved over the years. They know the prosperity that is evident today is unparalleled in the country’s history. They know that the stability and the continuous economic growth which was lauded by the international community, is the fruit of astute leadership by President Bharrat Jagdeo.
They know that the many comforts that they now enjoy are due to the sincerity of the PPP/C to make Guyanese proud of themselves and their country. They know that Guyana has moved from being the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, as it was in 1992, to a developing nation in the same category with Brazil, China and India. They know that the visionary leadership of President Jagdeo is greatly responsible for the modernization and transformation of Guyana.
In addition to being aware of these many successes of the PPP/C Administration, Guyanese are cognisant of the efforts of the Opposition and the few cronies they have planted within some sections of the media, to discredit the government for narrow political mileage.
The achievements that have punctuated the landscape of Guyana especially within the last 12 years are irrefutable evidence of the dedication and hard work of President Jagdeo and the PPP/C. The President’s achievements have been lauded both locally and overseas.
Guyanese flocked the National Stadium to show their appreciation for the President on September 16, last. It was a spontaneous show of adoration for the man who made a positive impact on their lives. The Stadium, the Berbice Bridge, the Takutu Bridge, the Skeldon Factory, the International Conference Centre and the expansion of the banking sector are a miniscule representation of his achievements and the legacy he will leave following the November 28, 2011 General Elections; a legacy for the transformation and prosperity of Guyana. This transformation will continue so that Guyana can realize its full potential under the Presidency of Mr. Donald Ramotar.
Over the years, it is these achievements that drove fear into the Opposition and continue to do so. As a counter, they let loose their vile media cronies in the likes of Freddie Kissoon to spew lies in an effort to mislead Guyanese.
These attempts have failed. Freddie has ranted frequently that President Jagdeo will leave office without a legacy. His sentiments have become even more frequent in this election year. That is why it was very surprising to learn that Freddie in his Tuesday, October 11, 2011 column, appears to have a change of opinion.
In relation to the suspension of CNS Channel 6, Freddie wrote, “…the President threw away a chance to have a fantastic legacy”. The suspension came into effect on Monday, October 3, 2011. The President has been in office for over 12 years. It is pellucid that Freddie is saying that the President’s legacy was fantastic up to the point of the suspension, a contradiction to his previous position; a reversal of his lies.
The truth has finally caught up with Freddie. He has now come to realize what thousands already knew. Dr. Luncheon put it best at Kitty last Sunday, “…President Jagdeo will be remembered for generations and centuries to come”.
Welcome to the club, Freddie!
