DDL mourns passing of George Robinson

…it’s Executive Director and Chief Distiller
DEMERARA Distillers Limited (DDL) said it is saddened to announce the passing of Executive Director and Chief Distiller George Leslie Robinson, 63, who died Sunday morning while en route to New York to seek further medical attention.
Mr. Robinson joined the then Guyana Distillers Limited in 1967 as a Trainee Distiller and held various positions before being appointed to the Board of Directors in 1998 as Director of Wines and Spirits.
Chairman of DDL, Dr. Yesu Persaud, described Mr. Robinson as “a friend and dedicated member of the DDL Team.
“During his 44 years of exemplary service to DDL, George has made a tremendous impact on the development of the DDL Group of company. He would be sorely missed by the Board, Management and employees of the DDL group of Companies,” Dr. Persaud stated.
“We wish to express our sincere condolences to his children, Glen, Grandson & Katina and all his other relatives and friends,” added a statement from DDL.
