THE PPP has kicked off its campaign with a bang as usual and the writing is on the wall that, the PPP/C led by Mr. Donald Ramotar is heading for a landslide victory. With Mr. Ramotar taking over the presidency, a replacement for general secretary is obvious. I am not sure whether the party will have any discussion with the general membership in naming the new cabinet or whether it will be a closed door decision.
I would however, like to propose what the new cabinet should look like.
1. Donald Ramotar – President & Commander-in-Chief.
2. Robeson Benn – Prime Minister & Minister of Public Works, Hydraulics & Transport.
3. Navin Chanderpaul – Minister of Natural Resources & Communication.
4. Norman Whittaker – Minister of Local Government & Regional Development.
5. Keith Burrowes – Minister of Finance.
6. Kwame Gilbert – Minister of Culture, Youth & Sport.
7. Ralph Ramkarran – Attorney General & Minister of Legal Affairs.
8. Carvil Duncan – Minister of Labour.
9. Aleema Nasir – Minister of Human Services, Social Security & Women Affairs.
10. Gail Texeira – Minister of Public Service Management.
11. Moses Nagamotoo – Minister of Home Affairs.
12. Hydar Ally – Minister of Education.
13. Joseph Hamilton – Minister of Housing & Water.
14. Frank Anthony – Minister of Health.
15. Odeen Ishmael – Minister of Foreign Affairs.
16. Komal Chand – Minister of Agriculture.
17. Pauline Sukhai – Minister of Amerindian Affairs.
18. Yesu Persaud – Minister of Trade, Industry, Commerce & Tourism.
Mr. Feroze Mohamed should be the new General Secretary of the party and this time around the PPP/C will win Region Four, Kwame Mc Coy should be the Chairman of Region Four.
President Ramotar, as soon as he is sworn in should start to reform his government. Long Live the PPP. Long live the legacy of Cheddi Jagan.
