$27.4M dormitory under construction in ETI compound

GOVERNMENT, through the Regional Administration in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), has started construction on a dormitory in the compound of the Essequibo Technical Institute (ETI) at Anna Regina, on Essequibo Coast. According to a report, presented to Councillors of the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) by Vice-Chairman, Mr. Vishnu Samaroo, the sum of $27.4M is being spent to construct the modern facility, which will provide accommodation for hinterland students while they are pursuing studies at the ETI.
Regional Chairman, Mr. Ali Baksh, who made strong representations for the dormitory, said many students from the Pomeroon, Essequibo Islands and Region One (Barima/Waini) are, currently, attending the Institute and the Administration is faced with the task of finding accommodation for them.
According to him, when the construction is completed in November, it will give hinterland students more opportunities to study and elevate themselves with skills.
