PROPRIETOR of Big ‘T’ Hotel, along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway, Mr. Hector Talbot died at his home, in the complex, on Sunday.
He was 81. A close relative, Mr. John Lewis, of Water Chris Hotel, in Georgetown, said the businessman, popularly known as Big ‘T’, had been ailing for some time.
Talbot and his wife, Jean, who pre-deceased him, had remigrated from the United States (U.S.) to establish the resort.
Lewis said: “He did exactly what he said he would do. While he was living in the U.S., he always spoke of coming back to Guyana to build a resort. He built it and realised his dreams.”
“He was a very pleasant and easy-going person who will be missed by his friends and family,” Lewis lamented.
