Accused granted $150,000 bail in counterfeit money case

ANTHONY Charles, 25, of Lot 4 Canal, West Bank Demerara, appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday, charged with possession of forged bank notes.
The indictable charge said he had nine counterfeit US$100 bills without lawful authority on August 24.
On an application by attorney-at-law Mr. George Thomas, who requested reasonable bail and assured the court that, if granted, Charles will face trial to clear his name, the latter secured the grant on a $150,000 bond.
The case will be called, again, on November 16.
