MINISTER of Local Government and Regional Development Norman Whittaker, will be leading a team of government officials to the Mabaruma sub-district of Region 1 on a four – day visit, starting tomorrow. Among the communities to be visited by the Minister are: Mabaruma District, Barabina, Kamwatta, White Water, Wauna, Tobago Hill, Yarakita, Hobodeia, Hotoquai, Sacred Heart Square, Almond Beach, Imbotero, and Morawhanna
Minister Whittaker is virtually going back home. He served in that Region as a School Teacher / School Administrator and as PPP activist for many years and then he moved up to the position of Regional Chairman.
As chairman, he became well acquainted with the social and economic problems of the region.
During his visit, the minister will examine developments and associated concerns, and issues relating to roads, infrastructure, agriculture, education and health, among others. (GINA)
