… fights Richard Williamson at next Friday Night Fights
ALBA Games bronze medallist Imran `Magic’ Khan will set the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall ablaze when he fights Richard Williamson in the amateur segment of the next Friday Night Fights scheduled for August 26. Khan, a lanky flyweight from the Harpy Eagles Gym, will be moving up one division when he matches gloves with Williamson, a crafty bantamweight who hails from the Pocket Rocket Boxing Gym in Berbice. The fight will be Khan’s first since returning from Venezuela last month.
A release from the Guyana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) stated that rugged Republican lightweight Nankumar Singh will make a comeback against Marlon Darrel of Ricola Warriors.
The other two amateur fights will see Romel Rowley of Ricola Warriors versus Akeem Daniels of Harpy Eagles while middleweight Eon Bancroft of GDF will take on Kelsie George of Pocket Rocket. In the professional segment of the card Kwasey Jones defends his light heavyweight title against Cleveland Fraser, a Guyanese, based in Barbados.
Pauline London clashes with Veronica Blackman in the lone heavyweight encounter of the card. Lightweight champion Revlond Lake takes on Cecil Smith while Clive Atwell, who fights out of Dominica, battles Gordel Roberts from Barbados.
