It is quite amusing to see that Freddie Kissoon is back on his nonsensical bandwagon, yet again (Kaieteur News, August 14, 2011).  He now seems obsessed with the handsome Dr. Misir, because he is flabbergasted as to why SN would not only include an article about him on the front page, but “to crown it all, carry an accompanying photograph”, exposing his outright jealousy . We all know that Kissoon suffers from an inferiority complex since he constantly talks about his black skin colour as compared with other Indians, so coming face-to-face so to speak with an attractive and intelligent Indian was just too much for his psyche and he just lost it.
Now, for the other sections of Kissoon’s missive, the strategic plan.  I am reliably informed by a well-placed source that the plan which was in existence at the tenure of Dr. Rose was superceded by another, under the reign of another vice-chancellor,  which was taken to Cabinet for its approval.
Cabinet did not approve that plan and sent it back to UG for modifications, particularly, the very cost-cutting measures that Dr. Misir has been talking about.  It is this Vice-Chancellor and his team who are responsible for updating the strategic plan and getting that back to Cabinet.  To date, nothing has been done and the plan is quickly gathering dust at UG.
If as Kissoon states, he sits on the Council, he is being disingenuous with such a scurrilous attack on Dr. Misir when he is quite aware of the facts.  This whole issue can be substantiated by the Minister of Education and other council members.  But then again, we know that Kissoon is allergic to facts.
The real motive or the Achilles heel of his missive is made clear when he mentions that the KN reporter McGowan never carried his diatribe, and that the SN has the temerity to not only put Misir’s article on the front page, but his picture as well, a feat he has never been able to accomplish in all of his comedic rants for both these dailies.
