THREE men, Charles Richards (no address given), Conrad Wright, of Lot 13 Friendship, East Bank Demerara and Cecil Pluck, of Lot 54 Fifth Street, Subryanville, Georgetown, appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday, jointly charged with conspiracy. The indictable charge alleged that, between July 16 and 29, with intent to defraud, they conspired together to forge one transport, in favour of John Cole, for a property located at Lot 77 Campbellville Housing Scheme, also in the city, with intent to obtain $7.5M from Dr. Bezaro Ordanzer.
Wright faced a separate charge that said, on August 9, he had eleven US$100 bank notes knowing them to be forged.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, requested that Richards and Wright be remanded to prison, stating that the latter, 51, has other similar matters before the court and committed another offence while on bail.
Attorney-at-law Mr. Adrian Thompson requested pre-trial freedom for Wright and Pluck, 50, but only the second was allowed on a $400,000 bond.
Unrepresented Richards made no application and will also remain incarcerated until October 24.
