PPP/C Presidential Candidate Donald Ramotar has announced that he does not have any objections to participating in a presidential debate at any time with any of the opposition party leaders. Speaking at a media conference at Freedom House yesterday, Ramotar assured that he in no way objects to the idea of a debate, though there has been no official word of any such event.
“Since all of the political parties have identified their presidential candidates, there has been no official word on this… I have no objection to debating with any of them, any time, any place, as long as it is politically good to do so,” he assured.
As to the likelihood of such a debate, Ramotar said, “I know for a fact that the presidential candidates for A Partnership For National Unity (APNU) and Alliance For Change ( AFC ) are not getting much attention out here , so I would suspect that they might be eager to get some attention for themselves, but let us see what happens before the elections.”
