THE Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha will present two outstanding artistes from India – vocal singer Payal Seen and tabla expert Pandit Kinaar Seen who will perform and teach vocal music and playing of the Tabla in Demerara and Berbice. The first session will be held at the Dharmic Sanskritik Kendra this Sunday at 14:00 hrs and will continue daily until Saturday August 13, 2011. Classes will also be held at Ocean View Mandir, West Coast Demerara from Monday August 8 – Saturday August 13 at 13:00 hrs.
Classes will begin on the Corentyne at Tain Kendra from Sunday 14 – Wednesday August 17 at 16:00 hrs. There will be a one-day workshop at Bath Shri Krishna Mandir, West Coast Berbice on Thursday August 18 at which there will be demonstration of tabla playing and vocal music.
The talented couple will make public appearances and perform at the following Mandirs –
** Betterhope Mandir, E.C.D – Monday August 8 at 18:30 hrs
** Bath Settlement Shri Krishna Mandir, West Berbice – Tuesday August 9 at 16:00 hrs
** Ocean View Mandir, W.C.D – Wednesday August 10 at 18:30 hrs
** Shri Krishna Mandir, C/ville – Thursday August 11 at1 O9:00 hrs.
The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha has been promoting vocal music at its Kendra and has scheduled its annual Kala Utsav for November 27, 2011.
