MAGISTRATE Leslie Sobers on Thursday bonded Patrick Carter, 33, and his wife Judy Carter, 34, to keep the peace for one year when the two appeared in the Providence Magistrate Court to answer a charge of assault committed against each other.
The male Carter who resides at Lot 932 Fourth Field, Kaneville, East Bank Demerara was also made to pay court cost of $5, 000 after his wife refused to give evidence against him.
Judy Carter explained to the magistrate that her husband went home under the influence and proceeded to beat here.
In self-defence she grabbed his testicles and pulled it which enraged him further and he cuffed her again.
The matter was reported to the police and both parties were charged, however, the woman offered not to give evidence against her husband who she did not want to see go to jail.
