What has happened to the proposed development of football?

IT IS indeed sad to know that some of the most reputable football clubs in Guyana are under the negative eyes of some of the most unfortunate football administrators in Guyana.
Hats off to Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T) for their initiative in sponsoring and organising the 2011 Fastball Football Tournament!

The Georgetown Football Association (GFA) is the preeminent functioning football sub-association in Guyana.
There are sixteen duly constituted clubs, registered with the Georgetown Football Association.
All these clubs expressed their desire to be part of this historical event.  However, despite some of the clubs’ preparedness, a few clubs have been singled out for “unfair/prejudicial treatment”.
Futsal Football is recognised by the World Governing Body of Football.  Sometime ago the Guyana Football Federation encouraged the Government of Guyana to spend a substantial amount of money to prepare the National Sports Hall for a regional tournament.
Unfortunately after the National Sports Hall was ready for the event, the unfortunate and unpatriotic football administrators allowed Trinidad and Tobago to host the Regional Futsal Tournament.
The entire football fraternity cried foul against the GFF bosses.  They recognised that the Guyanese public was sold out by two or three unpatriotic football administrators. They fooled us in the Government and cited that the crime situation was the reason for the change of venue.
These ridiculous football administrators were all at the Guyana National Stadium for an especially impressive football tournament. Guyanese will never forget these hypocrites for it was just weeks after the Regional Futsal Tournament there was the massive crowd at the National Stadium and no-one complained about crime.
The National Sports Commission recognised that over forty football clubs in this country were given $500 000 each for the development of their clubs. That boost by the government for the development of football was highly appreciated by the players.
However, the president of the GFF must tell the football fraternity what happened to the proposed development of football.   Sub-Associations are undoubtedly used against each other.
Today, several sub-associations are not functioning, yet they enjoy voting rights at the GFF Congress. The blatant discrimination against the Georgetown Football Association only compounds, at best, questionable activities of the GFF.
The National Sports Commission and GFA decided to run-off a Futsal Tournament in Georgetown in order to keep the players active and prepare for the Regional Tournament. It is most shameful to know that the GFF, a ‘default’ vindictive Federation deemed the Futsal Tournament in Georgetown as a tournament which was not sanctioned by the GFF.
The players, the clubs and the GFA came to the National Sports Commission and appealed to us to work together for the Futsal Tournament.
The tournament is generating tremendous interest. Clubs are playing and the competition is highly competitive.  However, an association ‘Hopper’ wrote a letter saying that the Guyana Football Federation did not sanction the Futsal Tournament.
The GFF must understand that if they have to sanction this simple Futsal Tournament then the time is fast approaching when they will be sanctioned. Adonis and company are becoming very provocative.
Guyanese must wake up and work in unity to allow our footballers to develop.  Sponsors will always have reservations in supporting football because they are suspicious of the administrators. Our football administrators must come clean and act in the best interest for the development of the sport in this country.
May I ask what happened to the millions of dollars the GFF received for the construction of the Goal Project?  Today, that place is under serious bush and snakes. However, millions of dollars were collected to breed snakes, ants and grow bushes.
