A twenty-seven-year-old Gold Miner, Charles Tang, was stabbed to death at Big Creek landing in the North West District on Monday during a heated argument with another miner.
Reports out of Port Kaituma said the two men were consuming alcohol at the landing which is located some distance from Port Kaituma.
Mother of the deceased miner, Joyce Tang told Chronicle that her son used to live at Grant Paradise, Pomeroon River and at Onderneeming before going to the interior.
According to the distressed mother, she received the tragic news from her daughter Carmilee Trotman of Georgetown via telephone that her son Charles was stabbed to death.
She said the body of her son is currently in the Port Kaituma mortuary. Reports said the other miner who stabbed Charles is in police custody assisting with investigations.
The deceased has left to mourn eleven siblings and his parents. His body is expected to be brought to the Pomeroon for burial.
