Roy Whyte (no address given) appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday, on a charge of assault.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge, and particulars stated that on June 25, at Brickdam, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Randolph Glasgow.
Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, said that the virtual complainant and the defendant are known to each other, and on the day in question, the defendant’s nephew and the virtual complainant had an argument.
She added that Glasgow intruded, and some minutes later, Whyte snatched him and dealt him two slaps to his face and hit him in the head. The prosecutor had no objections to bail.
Bail was granted $25,000, and Whyte was placed on a bond to keep the peace for one year.
