RORAIMA Bikers Club’s (RBC) Alonso Greaves is set to defend his P&P Insurance Brokers and Consultants Limited feature race title, when the 11th annual edition of the race pedals off around the inner circuit of the National Park from 09:00hrs. National cycling coach Hassan Mohamed has organised the event which will see Managing Director of P&P Insurance, Bishwa Panday, and members of his staff assist with the distribution of prizes to the respective winners.
With the present form being shown by Warren ‘40’ McKay, Albert Philander, Robin Persaud, Junior Niles and to an extent Ian ‘Dumb Boy’ Jackson, Greaves will be hard-pressed to repeat as champion once again, having won last year’s 35-lap event in a time of 1h 21mins 14.56secs.
The vast-improving Paul De Nobrega is the defending champions in the Juveniles 10-lap race which he won with a time of 28m; 04secs last year while Davendra Ramnarine and Linden’s Hazena Barrett are the 2010 Veteran Under-50 and Boys and Girls 12 to 14 years category winners respectively.
