TWENTY-FIVE-YEAR-OLD Andy Duncan (no address given) was sentenced to six months imprisonment yesterday, on conviction for larceny.
Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry inflicted the custodial punishment on the convict after he pleaded guilty to the offence.
The prisoner admitted that, on May 31, he stole six zinc sheets, valued $24,000, which had been affixed to a Guyana Police Force (GPF) building.
Asked, by the magistrate, why he committed the crime, the thief declined to offer a reason.
