I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all those behind this successful event “Feminition 2011”. I know that the Honourable Minister Priya Manickchand is always there for the women of Guyana and as such Guyana will one day be free from domestic violence and other problems affecting Guyanese women. I adore the Ministry of Human Services and Society Security for acknowledging the problems of women. I hate people who criticise the hard work of people who are always on the go trying to make this country a better place. I am referring to Stella Ramsaroop and her article in the Kaieteur Newspaper (Sunday 29 May, 2011) about alcohol being sold at the Feminition 2011. Well, Stella if you didn’t know, alcohol is even sold at church events such as fair and bar-b-que, just to name a few.
The Guyanese women who were at the Feminition supported this activity to the fullest and didn’t complain. They didn’t seem to mind the alcohol and if you didn’t know, they also supported the bars.
I have two questions for Stella Ramsaroop. What is wrong with Guyanese women having fun? Did the organisers say that all women who want to attend Feminition 2011 have to consume alcohol?
Well Stella it was a choice.
It was a choice at Feminition to imbibe or not
