ACTING Registrar of the Supreme Court Ms. Bibi Ali, yesterday disclosed that 196 cases are listed for hearing at the June criminal session, which opens in Georgetown on Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Of the cases, 51 are for murder, eight for attempted murder, 73 for carnal knowledge, 36 for rape, nine for buggery, five for causing death by dangerous driving, and 17 for manslaughter.
Judges assigned to the session are Justice Roxanne George and Justice James Bovell-Drakes.
The session will open with the traditional ceremonial parade outside the Victoria Law Courts on South Road, Georgetown.
The parade, including 60 ranks of the Tactical Services Unit, will provide a guard of honour which will be inspected by one of the judges who will also take the salute during a march past.
