Second brother, in two years, hangs himself

RONNIE Patrick, 24, hanged himself in his father’s home at Charity New Housing Scheme on the Essequibo Coast.
Reports said the gold miner, who had returned from the interior last Sunday, was discovered dead, hanging from a piece of rope tied to a rafter in the house, about 08:00hrs Sunday morning.

He was the last of five children, said his father, Patrick Edward, who made the discovery on his return home from work.
The man, who works as a night security guard at Big Bird Fishing Complex, said his son was, allegedly, involved in a rape and the case was expected to be called shortly, in Charity Magistrate’s Court, also on the Essequibo Coast.
The father speculated that his son might have become confused over the story and ended his life in the tragic manner.
Edward said another of his gold miner sons committed suicide in a similar manner two years ago.
Police are investigating the latest tragedy.
