Ramcharran, Cameron steer Berbice to first innings points
THANKS to a 75-run fourth-wicket partnership between skipper Sharaz Ramcharran who scored 52 and Nicholas Cameron (46), defending Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Under-15 Inter-county champions Berbice were able to snatch first-innings points from Essequibo on the final day at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, yesterday.

Resuming at their overnight score of 37 for 3, in reply to their opponents’ 148 for 5 made off their allotted 65 overs, Berbice reached 201 for 7 from 61 overs, before declaring their first innings closed, with Ramcharran hitting six fours in his 52.
Arif Chan and Nial Smith were unbeaten on 26 and 11 respectively when the declaration was made, with Akel Wallace and Kemol Savory being the leading wicket-takers for Essequibo, ending with 3 for 34 and 2 for 48 respectively.
Batting a second time with a deficit of 53 runs, Essequibo reached 77 for 5 from 52 overs when stumps were drawn, with first innings top-scorer Ricardo Peters leading their fight with 34 while Parmesh Parsaton and Wallace contributed 15 and 14 respectively.
The tournament will continue tomorrow at the same venue, with Essequibo taking on Demerara.
